It has taken some subcontinental heartbreak but the tournament is finally alive. And how! India and Pakistan’s losses have thrown open many possibilities as the second round teams start becoming visible. But there are still a lot of games to be played and we could still see a couple of more upsets.
Although Australia’s next match is against the Netherlands, the focus for that group is the upcoming match against South Africa. And sure enough, Ponting has a thing or two to say!
But the majority of the headlines around the world were dedicated to India and Pakistan losing their matches. For Pakistan, it means the end of the road in this tournament while the Irish may make the second round and be around another four weeks!
The blogosphere hasn’t taken too kindly to either loss, either. Lots of things are being said and India will need to dig very deep (like last time, really) and come back into contention.
