>>>Another thing that has intrigued me is how SA can host the IPL and their own general elections on April 22 when India can’t.

Aditya, one thing let us not forget that the relative sizes and political context of two countries. Can you compare the size of india with size of SA? Can you compare political (democratic) histor of india and SA? Can you compare the neighbouring countries situation (india-pak or india-bangla or india-china or india-srilanka) to that of SA? Can you see the threat of terrorism that india has been enduring in last 4-5 year to that of SA?

There lies the answer why SA can host IPL amidst elections while india can not. It is not to justify political stand of india of choosing to favour elections to IPL.

Like of the indians who can not stop praising other contries they visit (traffic, cleanlness, infrastructure etc) - you also appear to go blind on why india is in a condition today.

If you see any country deeply, all the perils and problems that we see india are very much there ... but we simply fail to recognize them as the grass is greener on the other side always.

Incidently I am also in Cape town for a business work - I like the place ...

but india is always india - the great country - matchless

Shrini
